Interactive LED floor is the main pain point to be solved in the small spacing industry

The novel coronavirus pneumonia has a huge impact on the global economy. The demand for global teleconference, cross department multi terminal collaboration, remote emergency command, digital twin city, smart factory and distance education has been upgraded.

Full Color outdoor led floor Small spacing is the main force. In recent years, small spacing big LED screen has developed rapidly in the indoor large screen splicing display market with its characteristics of seamless, thin, wide color gamut and good consistency. Large small spacing led splicing display screens can be seen everywhere in the command centers and conference centers of military, public security, energy, transportation, radio and television and other industries. According to the market research data of ovelvo, the share of small spacing LED has been close to 60%, and it is predicted that its market share will exceed 70% by 2024, becoming the absolute main force of the indoor large screen splicing display market.

Is the small pitch big LED screen really perfect? Of course not. There are always two persistent diseases that plague the whole industry and become lingering pain points.

One of the pain points, it is dazzling to watch for a long time and close distance, and the viewing comfort is not good;

The second pain point is that after using for a period of time, many "caterpillars" will appear on the large screen, which will seriously affect the integrity of the picture.

Where is the root of the problem? Lies in PM (passive matrix) passive driving mode. LED light beads can be made smaller and smaller. Now they can be 0.4mm * 0.4mm or even smaller, but the driving IC can not be so small, so it is impossible to realize the point-to-point precise control of one light bead by one driving IC. One group (three) drive IC is widely used in the industry to scan and drive dozens of lines and thousands of light beads at the same time, commonly known as PM passive drive.

Under the PM passive driving mode, the lamp beads are on and off line by line. In a small display area, only one row of lamp beads is on at the same time, and the other rows of lamp beads are off. It's like scanning your eyes quickly and repeatedly with a laser pen. It's so fast that you think it's always on, and the instantaneous peak brightness of the light bead can reach dozens of times of the sensory brightness, so you'll feel dazzling, even if the brightness of the LED advertising screen is turned down very low.

Under this kind of pulse drive, LED is doomed to be unable to supply power continuously, resulting in dynamic display. This is the reason why human eyes are uncomfortable, which is inevitable.

If one lamp bead is damaged and short circuited, it will cause the whole row or column of lamp beads to stay on, commonly known as "Caterpillar".

Some people may also say that the main pain point of the small spacing LED display screen industry is the point spacing. They think that the smaller the point spacing, the better. In fact, in the application field of large screen splicing display, the minimum viewing distance is generally more than 3-5M, which is P1 0-P1. 5 point spacing is enough. Too small point spacing is actually a waste.
